David Rookard II Head Chef

David Rookard II, our esteemed Head Chef at The Cellar & Co, brings a rich culinary journey that began at the tender age of 10 at the Young Chefs Academy. Under the nurturing guidance of his grandmother, David honed his skills until he launched his professional career at 18. By 21, he was making waves in the fine dining scene, specializing in Southern-influenced cuisine that blends tradition with innovation. His talent shone brightly at Kingfish, where he contributed to its recognition as Akron’s #1 seafood restaurant. David’s impressive resume also includes a tenure at Delmonico’s Steakhouse and exclusive catering for local politicians and state senators. Now at The Cellar & Co, David is excited to elevate the dining experience, creating a destination where exceptional food and wine harmonize to delight every palate.

Antonio Sutton - Sous Chef

Antonio Sutton, Sous Chef at The Cellar & Co, brings over 20 years of culinary experience, starting with home cooking before transitioning to professional kitchens. As a Private Chef, and owner of Laczar Gourmet Foods, he designed custom menus for private events, including weddings, bridal showers, and graduations, often incorporating client preferences into multi-course meals. Trained in diverse culinary styles, Antonio specializes in Hibachi, Italian, and Cajun cooking, bringing vibrant techniques and bold flavors to his dishes. He has performed at exclusive events, engaging guests with live Hibachi preparation, precise knife skills, and interactive presentations. Antonio also worked at Chagrin Valley Country Club, where he prepared seasonal dishes and contributed to upscale dining experiences for members. At The Cellar & Co, Antonio looks forward to bringing his passion for food into every dish, focusing on fresh ingredients and dynamic flavors.
